Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig Sept. 21 in 1983) is an acclaimed American actor. Particularly, she played Shannon Rutherford from ABC's Lost TV series and Kim Mills for the Taken Trilogy. Maggie Grace was born in Worthington in Ohio. She was kicked out of school when her parents split up to move in Los Angeles to live with her mother. It was a struggle to get by at the time she landed her first part in the acting world in Rachel's Room's leading character. The role she played as Martha Moxley, a 15-year-old victim of murder, in the television movie Murder in Greenwich in 2002 earned her a nomination for a Young Artist Award. Grace Rutherford played Shannon Rutherford for Lost's first two seasons in 2004 as well as sharing the Screen Actors Guild Award (with the rest of the cast) alongside her. Leaving the series Grace would like to be more prominently in film having starred opposite Tom Welling in The Fog in 2005. She appeared as Kim Mills opposite Liam Neeson (both in Taken 2008) on Suburban Girl and the Jane Austen Book Club. The role was reprised in Taken 2 (2013) and Taken 3 (2015). The actress also appeared in Alice in Malice in Wonderland which is an updated interpretation of the Lewis Carroll novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace returned to Shannon's character in Lost for two additional episodes. This included the final episode of the series. She appeared in 2013's sixth season of Californication. She plays Faith, who is an admirer and muse to the stars. Hank Moody as played by David Duchovny falls in love with her. She's the child of Stephen Gyllenhaal (director) and Naomi Achs (producer), she is a bit more senior than Jake Gyllenhaal. Her acting career started as a teenager as she was cast in minor role in films made from her father. Also, she worked alongside her brother on the 2001 cult movie Donnie Darko. The next film she appeared in was Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind as well as Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal was nominated for a Golden Globe Award in both the action drama Sherrybaby (2005) and in the romance comedy Secretary (2002). Both films received acclaim from critics. She had numerous films that were commercially successful, including World Trade Center. However, it was her role as Rachel Dawes that brought her wider attention in The Dark Knight (2008). The year 2009 was the time she was recognized for the award of Best Supporting Actress at the Oscar Awards for her performance of a single mom as she appeared in Crazy Heart. Her subsequent roles include Nanny McPhee, the Big Bang and Hysteria. Some of her other characters include as a secret agent for The Secret Service in White House Down 2013, as a vocalist in Frank 2014 and as a singer in The Kindergarten Teacher 2018, in which she plays the lead role. Gyllenhaal's first film as a writer and director was in 2021 with The Lost Daughter, a psycho-drama for which she received the Venice International Film Festival Best Screenplay Award. The film also was awarded an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.
