Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson Both lawyers. After moving to Oxfordshire when she was five, Emma enrolled at The Dragon School. When she was six years old, Emma was aware she would like to be an actress. For several years, she studied at the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts a part-time theatre school where she studied singing dancing and acting. From the age of 10 the actress took part in and performed the main role in numerous Stagecoach Productions and School Plays. Casting began in 1999 in the production of Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2001) the movie adaptation of British author J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel. Casting agents found Emma via her Oxford theater teacher. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone, and Ron Weasley told Emma after eight auditions that she had been picked for these parts. The cast included Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. Emma's debut film came with the release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2002). The highest-grossing movie of 2001, the film set records for its opening day sales as well as opening weekend takings. Critics were impressed with the film and its performance. The Daily Telegraph, a widely read British paper, praised her for her exceptional performance. Emma's performance received nominations and won five awards later in the film.
